Hello there!
Welcome to Not Looking, But Seeing where I discuss photography and the creative process. As I’m a big fan of the history of photography, from its early pioneers to modern-day innovators, I’ll write about the historical processes that have shaped the medium into what it is today.
I’ll be reviewing monographs and exhibitions and make recommendations so you don’t waste your time or your money doing the research yourself. I’d love it if we could discuss them together! I’ll also be examining the works of some known and little-known photographers to provide you with inspiration for your next photographic session.
Why subscribe?
Every two weeks on a Friday morning, you’ll receive my latest newsletter, direct to your inbox. From time-to-time, I’ll send an extra email, but I’ll keep it short and sweet. Your time is precious.
Who am I?
I’m Elle, a photographer from Birmingham, UK.
I'm passionate about photography, art, and cinema. My creative practice is centred on representation and family, but I’m just as happy exploring portraiture, street photography and abstraction.
